All county residents can vote for the Reynolds, Enka and Erwin district seats in the election. Lisa C. Baldwin is running for the Reynolds seat on the Buncombe County School Board.

I will work to raise the bar for Buncombe County Schools both in the administration and in the education of our students. I take this charge very seriously and stand committed to represent the educational issues most important to Buncombe County residents.

• Be a voice for parents, students and teachers. One role of the school board is to be a watchdog for the electorate.
• Transparency and ethical decision-making
• Fiscal responsibility – Focus taxpayer dollars on classroom instruction
• Organizational Efficiency- Drive efficient performance at the administrative level and eliminate wasteful expenditures
• Support teachers in creating lifelong learners, not just good test takers. Maintaining small elementary class sizes and teacher assistants give students a significant achievement advantage, particularly in math and reading.
  
• School calendar – Minimize disruptions to families and maximize learning opportunities
• Effective weather cancellation policy
• Drop-out prevention/mentoring
• Community involvement in education
• Science, Math and Technology emphasis
• Prepare graduates to compete on a global level
